So you’ve heard the Louvre is a world-renowned museum, with works like Monet’s “Water Lilies” and da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa,” but how much does it cost to visit? How much does it cost to visit?
Visiting the Louvre Museum Tour costs approximately €26 for adults for a general ticket. The ticket cost includes; access to the museum, an audio tour in English or French, and entrance into one of the special exhibitions.
The prices for children differ, but it’s important to note that these are based on the child’s age and not their grade level. For example, a 16-year-old may purchase a student ticket, but a 10-year-old cannot. The cost is also different for children in school compared to those who are not in school. The general ticket does not include days for school groups or most school holidays.
Tickets for group visits that include all participating museums in Paris cost from 1,200 € to 2,000 € depending on which museums you want to visit and how many people are in your group (limit 3). The cost includes access to the museum, an audio tour in English or French and entrance into one of the special exhibitions.

Atmospherics
As previously mentioned, 500 000 people visit the Louvre each month, with approximately 70 % of them being foreign tourists. Visitors from all over the world are spread equally amongst different age groups. Roughly 90 % of visitors in 2014 were over 25 years old (22 to 64 years old), with an average age being 45 years old (51 %).
When visiting museums, people generally spend between 1 and 4 hours. This is important for those planning their day at the Louvre and trying to play it by ear instead of by the clock.
Most visitors visit the Louvre during the afternoon, making this a quiet time for those who wish to visit museums on Saturday evening or Sunday (except in summer). This also means you’ll have a better chance of finding free parking and shorter long lines, but beware of crowds.
The Louvre is closed on holidays, which differ from region to region in France. These holidays are based on several local and national holidays, including; Easter, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Most of these holidays are observed in Paris, but some may be optional depending on the museum being visited.

Hours & Timing
The Louvre is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm (with a few exceptions for exhibitions).
In addition, the Louvre is open until 9:45 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Tickets are valid for the same day of purchase and the following day (excluding Friday, which will be available after 3pm). Tickets can be purchased 1 hour before closing time. If you wish to purchase a ticket at the door, you must arrive at least 15 minutes before closing. If you plan to purchase tickets at the door, it is recommended that you book your Louvre Museum Tickets in advance.
